This formulation is designed for patients requiring at least 20 units of insulin per day.
Indications:
Toujeo Max SoloStar is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults and pediatric patients aged 6 years and older with diabetes mellitus. It is not recommended for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis.Administration:
Toujeo Max SoloStar is administered subcutaneously once daily, at the same time each day. It should be injected into the abdominal area, thigh, or deltoid. Patients should rotate injection sites within the same region to reduce the risk of lipodystrophy and localized cutaneous amyloidosis. The pen should not be shared between patients, even if the needle has been changed.Storage:
Unopened pens should be stored in the refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C (36°F and 46°F) and protected from light. Opened pens can be stored at room temperature (up to 30°C or 86°F) and should be used within 56 days. Do not freeze the pen; if it has been frozen, it should be discarded.Side Effects:
Common side effects include hypoglycemia, weight gain, and injection site reactions. Less common side effects may include allergic reactions, edema, and lipodystrophy. Patients should monitor for signs of hypoglycemia and adjust their dose as needed under medical supervision.Precautions:
Toujeo Max SoloStar should not be used during episodes of hypoglycemia or in patients with hypersensitivity to insulin glargine or any of the excipients in Toujeo. Patients should be aware of the potential for hypoglycemia and adjust their insulin regimen accordingly. Changes in insulin regimen, including changes to administration site, may affect glycemic control and predispose to hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia.- Availability: In Stock
