Velsipity (etrasimod) is an oral prescription medication used for the treatment of moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis (UC). In the UK/EU indication, it is approved for patients aged 16 years and older who have had an inadequate response, lost response, or were intolerant to conventional therapy or a biological treatment.

Etrasimod is a sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) receptor modulator. It works by regulating the movement of lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell involved in inflammation, and reducing the number that migrate from lymph nodes into the intestine. This helps decrease inflammation associated with ulcerative colitis and can improve symptoms of the condition. Velsipity is supplied as a 2 mg film-coated tablet and is taken orally once daily as directed by a healthcare professional.
